The beach of Vulisma (Golden Beach)

The beach of Vulisma (Golden Beach) is in walking distance from the village of Istron (place Kalo Chorio), so it is also known as Istron beach (located 15 km from Agios Nikolaos, 74 km from Heraklion, 22 km from Ierapetra).

Beach Vulisma – one of the most beautiful beaches of Crete, so it often appears on gift cards and magnets. Tourists like golden sand and incredibly turquoise water. Sunset in the sea convenient, at the shore finely, you can come with children.

For rest there is everything you need: sun beds, umbrellas from the sun, cafe; Boat trips are possible.

If you walk a little to the east, you can find a tiny peninsula with a cozy secluded beach (Hartalamis Beach). There is nothing on it, which attracts tourists looking for tranquility. For obvious reasons, nudism is practiced here.

Near the beach there is a large parking lot, several large tavernas-cafes across the road.

A few kilometers from the beach and Istron you can visit the ancient city of Gurnia and the mountain monastery of Phanereni.
