KALO CHORIO – LASITHI CRETE

Somewhere down in East Crete lies one of island’s greatest and widely known villages – Kalo Chorio. It is divided into four settlements: Istron, Pyrgo, Arnikou and Forti.

However, the whole area is often referred simply as Kalo Chorio and belongs to the municipality of Agios Nikolaos having only 1.200 inhabitants.

Istron is a new village with the population of over 600 inhabitants, many villas and touristic bars. Here one will find many beaches along with the Foklor Museum and a football court. Friends from all over the world come to pass their vacations at our friendly hotels or quiet villas with swimming pools surrounded by nature.

Kalo Chorio is located outside from Agios Nikolaos, a quiet famous Cretan city with over 50-years experience in tourism. According to archeologists the village itself was founded over 3000 years ago. Because of its beauty and wealth it was often attached by Minoans.

Other famous ancient towns were Minoa, Priniatikos Pyrgos (at the beach) and Vrokastro or Olopyksos at a coastal mountain of 300 m height.

The inhabitants of Kalo Chorio are also known for having many traditional celebrations. They are proud, jovial, hard working and tourist-friendly people.

Kalo Chorio has a strong reputation of a natural beauty resort for years. Together with it’s great history, wonderful cuisine and hospitable locals this village will become one of the most memorable places you ever visit on Crete.

Dear friends, every summer you are welcomed to spend an unforgettable weekend at Kalo Chorio in Lasithi region.
